The Minister

The Minister of Castle Street Church is Bruce Ritchie. Bruce was brought up near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders and came to faith through the ministry of John Riddell in Trinity Church of Scotland in Jedburgh. At University, after Jedburgh Grammar School and Hawick High School, Bruce completed his BSc in maths and a BD in theology. Subsequently Bruce's PhD was on The Missionary Theology of Robert Moffat.
Bruce was assistant for a year at Cluny Church in Edinburgh. In 1977 he went to the three linked parishes of Borgue, Tongland and Twynholm in south-west Scotland, before moving to Crieff in 1987. In 2001 Bruce went to Malawi, under the auspices of the Church of Scotland, to lecture in Systematic Theology at Zomba Theological College. Then, in 2006, Bruce became minister of Dingwall Castle Street Church.
Bruce is married to Grace, and they have two daughters, Elizabeth and Alison. Alison married Steve in 2009. Bruce's interests are reading, watching sport, and trying to play golf! Bruce and Grace love holidays on the Outer Hebrides, especially Harris which can be 'a bit of heaven on earth'.. |
